Academic Background
Susanne Merkle studied social sciences with a focus on communication studies and international relations at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, Université Robert Schuman de Strasbourg (France), and Loughborough University (UK). She worked for several years as a research associate at the Chair of Communication Studies at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg and at the Département de Communication Politique et Publique at Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC). She earned her doctorate as part of a Franco-German cotutelle program with a dissertation on political journalism in Germany and France.
